Feria de Ciencias

Se exhiben disciplinas como la robótica o la astronomía con la presencia del astronauta José
Hernández.


El pasado 6 y 7 de abril, la comunidad fronteriza tuvo la oportunidad de ¡Atrapar la chispa! al
abarrotar el Centro de Convenciones de El Paso que transformó su espacio en un cautivador
festival científico.
Más de 90 exhibiciones interactivas para explorar, aprender e inspirarse, fueron mostradas con
una amplia gama de disciplinas, desde la robótica y la astronomía hasta la química y la
geología.
El Departamento de Ciencias de la Universidad de Texas en El Paso, encabezado por el Dr.
Robert Kirken presentó este encuentro que fue organizado durante un año con el objetivo de
dar a conocer lo que se realiza en esta comunidad en materia de ciencias, astronomía,
geología, física, biología, y química.


Los alumnos de estas carreras participaron en la organización de este evento e invitaron a
varios grupos de alumnos de otras universidades de la región.
El Festival de la Ciencia de El Paso fue encabezado por el alcalde Oscar Leeser y el cónsul
Mauricio Ibarra y destacó la presencia del astronauta José Hernández y el escultor
chihuahuense, Sebastián.


Science Fair

Disciplines such as robotics and astronomy were exhibited with the presence of astronaut José
Hernández.
Last April 6 and 7, the border community had the opportunity to Catch the Spark! by crowding
the El Paso Convention Center, which transformed its space into a captivating science festival.
More than 90 interactive exhibits to explore, learn and be inspired were showcased with a wide
range of disciplines from robotics and astronomy to chemistry and geology.
The Science Department of the University of Texas at El Paso, headed by Dr. Robert Kirken,
presented this meeting, which was organized for a year with the objective of promoting what is
being done in this community in science, astronomy, geology, physics, biology, and chemistry.
The students of these careers participated in the organization of this event and invited several
groups of students from other universities in the region.


The El Paso Science Festival was headed by Mayor Oscar Leeser and Consul Mauricio Ibarra
and highlighted the presence of astronaut José Hernández and Chihuahuan sculptor Sebastian.
