Exponen figuras de perros Xoloitzcuintle en el Consulado de México en El Paso
Después de exhibirse en la sala principal del Museo de la Revolución de la Frontera en Ciudad Juárez, MUREF, llegan varias figuras de perros xoloitzcuintles, que ahora adornan la sala principal del Consulado de México en El Paso.
Un proyecto que pertenece al colectivo KalPixki-Art, que es originario de Guadalajara; quince de las obras que se están exponiendo fueron creadas por artistas juarenses, las cuales usted puede admirarlas hasta el mes de julio.
El Cónsul General, junto con Manuel tejada, Érica Ruiz y Tanny Berg, Inauguraron estas piezas de arte que miden poco más de un metro, y fueron pintadas de acuerdo con la imaginación de cada artista, plasmándola en la representación del perro xoloitzcuintle y la importancia que tiene esta raza para la cultura mexicana.
En la ceremonia de apertura se explicó que tienen la intención de mostrar de este lado de la frontera estas obras, después de ser expuestas en el MUREF – Museo de la Revolución de la Frontera-, y de resaltar el talento de los juarenses y, la identidad de esta comunidad; aunado al deseo de llevarla a otros sitios de El Paso.
Proyecto que, para los artistas, la temática fue totalmente libre. Ellos se informaron sobre la importancia del perro xoloitzcuintle en la cultura mexicana, un animal endémico, en el que la mitología mexica se creía que acompañaba tanto al maya como al azteca en vida, sin embargo, cuando las personas morían acompañaba el alma de los difuntos al inframundo.
Cabe mencionar que este proyecto nace de la iniciativa del empresario de Ciudad Juárez, Manuel Tejada para promover el talento local a través de los artistas creativos.

Xoloitzcuintle dog figurines on display at the Mexican Consulate in El Paso
After being exhibited in the main hall of the Museum of the Revolution of the Border in Ciudad Juarez, MUREF, several figures of Xoloitzcuintle dogs now adorn the main hall of the Mexican Consulate in El Paso.
A project that belongs to the collective KalPixki-Art, which is originally from Guadalajara; fifteen of the works that are being exhibited were created by artists from Juarez, which you can admire until the month of July.
The Consul General, along with Manuel Tejada, Erica Ruiz and Tanny Berg, inaugurated these pieces of art that measure a little more than one meter, and were painted according to the imagination of each artist, capturing it in the representation of the xoloitzcuintle dog and the importance of this breed for the Mexican culture.
At the opening ceremony, it was explained that they intend to show these works on this side of the border, after being exhibited at the MUREF – Museum of the Revolution of the Border, and to highlight the talent of the people of Juarense and the identity of this community; in addition to the desire to take it to other places in El Paso.
Project that, for the artists, the theme was totally free. They learned about the importance of the xoloitzcuintle dog in Mexican culture, an endemic animal, in which the Mexica mythology was believed to accompany both the Mayan and Aztec in life, however, when people died accompanied the soul of the deceased to the underworld. It is worth mentioning that this project was born from the initiative of Ciudad Juarez businessman Manuel Tejada to promote local talent through creative artists.
