Quinta Gala de la rosa del desierto

La quinta gala de la entrega de la “Rosa del Desierto”, resultó todo un acontecimiento para la comunidad de Ciudad Juárez y El Paso.

En esta edición, cuatro importantes personajes de la localidad fueron galardonados con la presea, diseñada por el afamado escultor chihuahuense Sebastián, que distingue el talento y la solidaridad de la gente de esta gran frontera.

Fue el mismo Sebastián, Carmen Becerra, directora de Border Heritage y Ben Arriola, director de Southwest Universty, los anfitriones de este singular evento que avala la labor y trayectoria de los condecorados.

Recibieron el premio:

  • Eduardo Orozco, del ramo de emprendimiento empresarial, líder en la industria restaurantera.
  • Dr. David Yates, prominente médico que ha dejado una marca indeleble en el panorama de la atención de niños con problemas craneales y deformidades faciales, de labio y paladar hendido.
  • José Luis Ordóñez, destacado tenor y exponente del arte y la cultura alrededor del mundo.
  • Pedro Zaragoza Delgado, filántropo, ejemplo de compromiso y retribución a la comunidad.

Cabe destacar, que este año, la cena estuvo a cargo del Culinary Institute de Southwest University, y gracias al aporte de los asistentes, los ingresos beneficiaron a la fundación FEMAP y sus unidades de servicio. Esta institución creada hace 50 años en Ciudad Juárez, para mejorar la calidad de vida de los fronterizos en condiciones vulnerables.

A lo largo de cinco años, más de una decena de personajes han sido elogiados con este premio, lideres sociales en diferentes ámbitos que, con el alma puesta en su quehacer, enaltecen nuestra tierra.

FIFTH DESERT ROSE GALA

The fifth gala of the “Rosa del Desierto” award ceremony was a great event for the community of Ciudad Juarez and El Paso.

In this edition, four important local personalities were awarded with the award, designed by the famous sculptor Sebastián from Chihuahua, which distinguishes the talent and solidarity of the people of this great border.

Sebastián himself, Carmen Becerra, director of Border Heritage and Ben Arriola, director of Southwest University, were the hosts of this unique event that endorses the work and trajectory of the honorees.

The award was presented to:

  • Eduardo Orozco, from the field of business entrepreneurship, a leader in the restaurant industry.
  • Dr. David Yates, prominent physician who has left an indelible mark on the landscape of care for children with cranial problems and facial deformities, cleft lip and palate.
  • José Luis Ordóñez, outstanding tenor and exponent of art and culture around the world.
  • Pedro Zaragoza Delgado, philanthropist, example of commitment and giving back to the community.

It is worth mentioning that this year, the dinner was in charge of the Culinary Institute of Southwest University, and thanks to the contribution of the attendees, the proceeds benefited the FEMAP Foundation and its service units. This institution was created 50 years ago in Ciudad Juarez to improve the quality of life of border residents in vulnerable conditions.

Over the past five years, more than a dozen people have been honored with this award, social leaders in different fields who, with their soul in their work, exalt our land.
