Boots, hats, and the unmistakable spirit of the Old West took over the El Paso County Coliseum during the latest edition of Starr Western Wear’s Rodeo El Paso, an event that brought together families, fans, and professional competitors to celebrate one of the most deeply rooted traditions of the American Southwest.
This year’s edition featured more than 250 professional athletes from the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) and the Women’s Professional Rodeo Association (WPRA), further establishing the rodeo as one of the region’s premier equestrian and sporting events.
The program included some of professional rodeo’s most iconic events, including bull riding, bareback riding, saddle bronc riding, team roping, tie-down roping, steer wrestling, barrel racing, and breakaway roping, offering spectators action-packed days filled with adrenaline, skill, and athleticism.
Beyond the competition, the event became a gathering space that brought El Paso families together around rodeo traditions and cowboy culture, elements deeply embedded in the identity of the American Southwest and the border region.
Organized with the support of Starr Western Wear and presented by Ztex Construction, the rodeo reaffirmed its place as one of the region’s most anticipated annual celebrations, keeping alive a tradition that continues to be an important part of the history and identity of the Paso del Norte region.
