Michelle Betancourt is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Imagen Diagnóstica, a leading medical imaging and laboratory company in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua. With more than 15 years of experience at the helm of this institution, she has consolidated a model of medical care excellence that now operates six branches in the city. She is currently leading the construction of a landmark 13-story building that will house more than 200 medical offices, state-of-the-art surgical suites, a dedicated oncology floor, hemodialysis, and many other services that will mark a before and after in healthcare in the region. But Michelle’s impact goes far beyond the business world.
She is the proud mother of three daughters, a lover of nature, hiking, and marathons. Her active and disciplined lifestyle led her to become the first person from El Paso and Ciudad Juárez to complete the seven Abbott World Marathon Majors, a milestone achieved by only 4,021 people worldwide. This feat speaks not only to her physical strength but also to her ability to inspire, break boundaries, and open new paths.
A true borderlander at heart, Michelle has made the bond between El Paso and Ciudad Juárez an essential part of her identity. This binational vision has driven her to build bridges between health, sports, and community, with a strong commitment to positively transforming her surroundings.
Her love of sports has become a powerful tool for social change. Inspired by her passion, she co-founded the Ya Quisieras Cáncer 5K race, which in just nine years has become the most important cause-driven race in northern Mexico. This initiative has brought together thousands of people around cancer prevention, turning every kilometer into an expression of hope, solidarity, and collective action.
Every October, Ciudad Juárez turns pink as a symbol of struggle and awareness. Companies from all sectors join the cause with donations, sponsorships, and logistical support. Universities and educational institutions mobilize their students, who volunteer during the event, creating an intergenerational and community support network. The movement has grown year after year, showing that when a community unites for a purpose, there are no limits to what it can achieve.
The success of this initiative led her to establish Sé Feliz A.C., a nonprofit organization that promotes preventive health campaigns, vaccination drives, cancer awareness programs in the maquiladora industry, and sexual health and pregnancy education in high schools across Ciudad Juárez. The demand has grown so much that the health brigades—which began in Juárez—are now also held in other cities across the state, such as Jiménez, Delicias, Parral, Cuauhtémoc, and Nuevo Casas Grandes, donating thousands of medical tests and hundreds of vaccines to those who need them most.
“This is just the beginning of something much bigger coming for our foundation,” Michelle shares as she presents the ambitious activity calendar that Sé Feliz A.C. has planned for the rest of the year and 2026.
In addition to her business and social work, Michelle is actively involved in several key organizations in the region. She currently serves as President of the Paso del Norte Foundation Board, one of the most significant philanthropic initiatives on the border. She is also a member of the Banorte Advisory Board in Ciudad Juárez and of the Americas Immigrant Advocacy Center Board in El Paso, where her leadership and binational perspective provide a crucial voice on issues of development, health, and equity.
