Tradition and Art Dazzle at the El Paso Airport

On October 30, the El Paso International Airport became an unexpected cultural stage with an elegant Catrina fashion show that surprised and captivated travelers and visitors alike. The runway, organized by Border Heritage in collaboration with UMC Mรฉxico and, of course, the El Paso International Airport, celebrated the spirit of Dรญa de los Muertos through art, fashion, and tradition.

Models from Bazaar walked through the airport halls wearing spectacular outfits created by designer Mayra Flores, whose pieces blended classic elements of Mexican imagery with a contemporary style that highlighted the vibrant character of this festivity.

But without a doubt, it was the Catrinas themselves who stole the spotlight. Their impeccable makeupโ€”filled with artistic detail and symbolismโ€”transformed the airport space into a living gallery. Travelers heading to their flights, as well as those just arriving, stopped in awe at the majesty of the designs, snapping photos and enjoying a moment of unexpected cultural connection amid their routine.

The show not only highlighted the creativity of the artists involved but also the power of Mexican tradition to cross borders and connect communities. The participation of UMC Mรฉxico reinforced the mission of promoting initiatives that celebrate cultural identity and strengthen binational ties.

With this presentation, the El Paso Airport demonstrated that it can also be a meeting point for art and tradition. The event made it clear that Mexican culture, with its beauty and depth, continues to win over spaces and heartsโ€”even in the most unexpected places.
