Con el lema “Lo Hacemos por Ti”, la Carrera Corazón de Niños, celebra un año más de triunfo.
La sexta edición de la carrera ‘Corazón de Niños’ que a bien organiza el Club Rotario Camino Real de El Paso, fue un éxito al recibir este 2024 a más de mil ochocientos entusiastas que se atrevieron a tomar el reto de recorrer cinco millas en la primera categoría y la segunda partida de tan solo una milla.
Competidores desde profesionales, hasta personas aficionadas pudieron asistir a correr, caminar o tan solo trotar en apoyo a la realización de cirugías a corazón abierto en niños con cardiopatías congénitas, del norte de México.
“Cada año se realizan en promedio entre 10 y 11 operaciones a menores de edad -hasta no más de 11 años- cuyas familias no cuentan con cobertura médica” – así lo aseguro Mario Alcázar quien junto a su esposa Rosalba han sido los organizadores de esta contienda deportiva desde su comienzo.
En el área de Central Park, en el centro de El Paso, desde las 7:00 am., comenzaron a llegar los miles de participantes de varias partes de la región como Las Cruces en Nuevo Mexico, El Paso, Ciudad Juárez y Chihuahua.
Este año se contó con la presencia de la actriz Vanessa Guzmán y el profesional de Racquetbol Alex Landa, quienes con su entusiasmo dieron el banderazo de salida y participaron en este recorrido.
“Estamos muy agradecidos por el apoyo de estos dos atletas que se suman a este esfuerzo al igual que a todos los que apoyan la carrera como corredores, patrocinadores, medios de comunicación, miembros del Club Rotario y negocios. Es una satisfacción muy grande lograr este evento además de fortalecer esta gran carrera y sobre todo brindando una nueva sonrisa y un nuevo corazón a varias familias de nuestra comunidad”, nos comentó Mario Alcázar.
En esta justa competitiva se deseaba alcanzar mil quinientos corredores en las diferentes categorías; una vez más se logró superar el número de participantes,
celebrando mil ochocientos cincuenta. Ahora solo se espera para el 2025, superar los
dos mil competidores en este gran evento deportivo.! ¡En horabuena!
Corazón de Niños 2024 Race.
With the slogan “We do it for you”, the Heart of Children Race celebrates another year
of triumph.
The sixth edition of the “Corazón de Niños” race, organized by the Camino Real Rotary
Club of El Paso, was a success, receiving this year 2024 more than one thousand eight
hundred enthusiasts who dared to take on the challenge of running 5 miles in the first
category and the second one-mile race.
Competitors from professionals to amateurs were able to run, walk or just jog in
support of open-heart surgeries for children with congenital heart disease in northern
Mexico.
“Each year an average of 10 to 11 surgeries are performed on minors – up to the age of
11 – whose families do not have medical coverage,” said Mario Alcazar, who along with
his wife Rosalba have been the organizers of this sporting event since its inception.
In the Central Park area of downtown El Paso, thousands of participants from various
parts of the region such as Las Cruces in New Mexico, El Paso, Ciudad Juarez and
Chihuahua began to arrive at 7:00 am.
This year we had the presence of actress Vanessa Guzman and professional
racquetball player Alex Landa, who with their enthusiasm gave the starting flag and
participated in this race.
“We are very grateful for the support of these two athletes who join this effort as well
as all those who support the race as runners, sponsors, media, members of the
Rotary Club and businesses. It is a great satisfaction to achieve this event in addition
to strengthening this great race and above all providing a new smile and a new heart to
several families in our community,” said Mario Alcazar.
In this competitive event, the goal was to reach one thousand five hundred runners in
the different categories; once again the number of participants was surpassed,
celebrating one thousand eight hundred and fifty. Now it is only expected for 2025, to
exceed two thousand competitors in this great sporting event! Congratulations!
