As part of the 2025 Encuentro en las Fronteras de la Ciencia, el Arte y la Tecnología, actor Guillermo Murray brought the audience to their feet at the Centro Cultural Paso del Norte. His solo performance, Leonardo, drew inspiration from the life and legacy of Renaissance icon Leonardo da Vinci.
For 90 captivating minutes, Murray led the audience through three defining moments in da Vinci’s life. He blended historical depth with humor, emotional expression, and vivid storytelling.
Instead of presenting dry facts, he humanized da Vinci—highlighting his curiosity, contradictions, and genius. The performance stirred laughter, sparked reflection, and moved many in the crowd, especially the students who made up most of the audience.
A two-by-two-meter cube sculpture by acclaimed artist Sebastián stood at the center of the stage. Far from being just a prop, it acted as a visual anchor—elevating the emotional intensity of the monologue.
Inspiring Curiosity Through Art
Murray not only performed the monologue—he also wrote it. His words invited the audience to wonder, imagine, and ask questions. Like da Vinci, they were encouraged to see the world through curious eyes.
The GazPro Foundation of Ciudad Juárez organized the event in close partnership with cultural and educational institutions. Together, they designed this experience to ignite a passion for science and the arts in local families.
By the time the final applause echoed through the theater, the energy in the room had shifted. Audience members left with wide smiles, open minds, and a deeper appreciation for creativity—and for one of history’s most brilliant thinkers.
Como parte del Encuentro en las Fronteras de la Ciencia, el Arte y la Tecnología 2025, el actor Guillermo Murray conquistó al público en el Centro Cultural Paso del Norte con su monólogo Leonardo, una obra inspirada en la vida y el legado de Leonardo da Vinci.
Durante 90 minutos intensos, Murray guió a los asistentes a través de tres momentos clave en la vida del genio renacentista. Combinó historia con humor, emoción y una narrativa que mantuvo al público cautivo.
En lugar de limitarse a relatar hechos, dio vida a da Vinci. Mostró sus dudas, su curiosidad, y su enorme capacidad intelectual. Las risas, los suspiros y la reflexión se hicieron sentir entre los asistentes—sobre todo entre los estudiantes, quienes representaban la mayoría del público.
En el centro del escenario, una escultura cúbica de dos por dos metros del reconocido artista Sebastián capturó todas las miradas. Más que un elemento decorativo, aportó fuerza visual y complementó la intensidad emocional del monólogo.

Además de actuar, Murray escribió el monólogo. Con sus palabras, invitó al público a imaginar, cuestionar y maravillarse. Como lo hacía da Vinci, los asistentes fueron impulsados a ver el mundo con nuevos ojos.
La Fundación GazPro de Ciudad Juárez organizó el evento en colaboración con diversas instituciones culturales y educativas. Juntos, crearon una experiencia pensada para despertar el interés por la ciencia y el arte en las familias de la región.
Al finalizar la función, el aplauso fue largo y cálido. Muchos salieron con sonrisas amplias y con la mente más abierta. La obra no solo rindió homenaje a un genio de la historia, sino que también encendió la chispa de la creatividad y la curiosidad en quienes la presenciaron.
